Looking to get a tacoma few q's

I currently have a 93 Toyota single cap pickup and am looking at getting a newer tacoma. Im looking at getting a single cab or ext cab with a 4 cyl. I was wondering what are the differences in these year tacomas?

I know their were some slight grille and body changes but what year were they?

What about interior? Are all the years the same?

2.4L and 2.7L right? What are the pro and cons of each engine? hp/tq?

Do any of these come with options like tilt wheel,pw,pdl etc...What are the options.

Any other information that can be given on these years would be great. Thanks in advance.

garret told you what years there were bodystyle changes. The interior is mostly the same for 98-2004. The gauge cluster is slightly different between the gens. Engines in the tacoma are 3.4L V6 and 2.7L 4 banger. The 3.4L has 190 hp dunno about the 2.7L as I never wanted one. Any Taco with the SR5 package usually has the PW, Tilt wheel, PDL. SR5 is like the "power package".

the 2.7 is rated at 165 but I think it might be a little better than that. my '98 reg cab 2.7 is a great truck. unless you are hauling or towing a lot you dont need more. my 2.7 has 130XXX on it and feels brand new. the 2.4 I dont know about, I just know that it is only in 2WD tacos. who wants that?

Yeah, the 2.4L is only in mini tacos, (fleet delivery vehicles), 2WD only, std cab only, basic economy offering.

I would like to get the 2.7 but am having trouble finding them, everythings a 2.4. Are they rare in the 2wd reg cab and extended cab models?

2.7L 4 cylinder in 4x4's and prerunners, not in the 5 lug 2wds. And the 2.4 is in the 5 lug 2wds in single or king cab.
