Looking for a cowl hood....
We have a 93 pickup that we are in the process of getting ready for the trails (pics later)....
We are looking for a cowl hood and can't seem to find any companies that make them...is there anyone out there that can lead us in the right direction? Thanks.... |

my mechanic has fabbed them out of 'glass they have the toyota stock chrome plastic trim and will fit the early 90's trucks/runners. This is a skin only you still need your sub frame. My body man says its a simple matter to attach the new skin just use windshield urethane.
I will contact my mechanic tomorrow and find out pricing and availability ( they are only made on demand). The item would be shipped from ontario canada. Cheers aviator

Cowl hood ? Like the way you think, cowl hoods are awesome. By mere coinsidence I happen to be working on one myself. I'd searched every where and nothing, got the idea from my 70 Chevelle SS 454. Had an extra yota hood lying around and an old damaged fibre glass cowl hood for my car. Gee maybe I could make one?? It's about 90 percent done now, the only problem is to get the look I wanted the cowl extends over the wiper area. This means I'll be installing 4 lockdown pins to hold it in place (the hoods not that heavy anyways). I might have to fab a new hinge to use it normaly, anyway here's a pic attached (I'd send more but having a hard time resizing)
Hope this works http://community.webshots.com/photo/...29633310YcUUvo

There is a company called Showdown Enterprises that had a write up in mini-trucking magizine. I searched the internet for one for my 87 they were the only place that I found one for any Toyota. If you want there # pm me and can give it to you. I still have not orderd one for mine yet. Not even close to being done with other mods yet.
www.minitruckinweb.com/tech/0205mt_hood/Hey type that in. That should give you all the info you will need. Never mind about the pm I set it up so you can see for yourself. Last edited by tallboy : 03-28-2004 at 06:29 PM. |
