A long time coming... HID Projectors

Hey guys,
Its been a while since i posted, but it is because school has started and I've been a little preoccupied. Ive taken it upon myself to put projectors into my rig... keep in mind that I loosely followed the write up for FX projectors because I went a much more inexpensive route. I spend a total of 200.00 for all of the major parts. And another 50 or so figuring out what type of shrouds and bezels to use. This is still a work in progress... so far I have completed the wiring harness and about 80% of one headlight, I wanted to get a good idea of what it was going to look like. I have bought bixenon projectors to keep the high beam function also.

Here is the first teaser... Ill get cutoff pics and night time shots once im completed, but I couldn't resist sharing this with everyone.

Sorry about the crappy angle/quality.. i cropped and lowered the quality so that i could upload... I promise better pictures soon...

Looks nice.

It's nice to see another projector project coming together. You'll really like the beam pattern when it's all completed. I thought just the '01 multi-reflector headlights were nice. But projectors just blow them out of the water.

Just out of curiosity, where did you find a bi-xenon HID kit for less than $200? And what color temp did you get?

I have my eye on a couple Philips 4300K HID kits out there for around $250.

How far back do those projectors stick? I have a little less than 1" between the back of the H9 bulb on my Hella projectors and the battery or air box.

Well patience and ebay really paid off... I also went with D1S Bixenons instead of the D2S, a screw holds my bulb in place. I paid 75.00 for Projectors and 125 for used audi ballasts and 4300 Phillips? Bulbs. The projectors are actually Valeo's... its kinda hard to describe, but the solenoid is in a funny shape so Its ALOT more work in diguising the hole... if you look close you can see some "angel eyes" that I just bought out of Advanced, they are just for looks.

PS. I didnt buy a kit, instead I bought OEM parts from a bunch of sellers on ebay and did enough research to know that they would fit... at least I HOPED that they would fit

My Projectors, since i mounted them from the front... stick out about 2.5 inches with the ballasts connected. I cant wait, Im very excited about the project.

Cool!

I picked up all 4 of my Hella lights off Ebay for around $200. Can't wait to read your reviews when you flip them on. And this thread is pushing me closer to buying that HID kit.

I know what you mean by the funny shape. That's actually what swayed me to the Hella projectors. All I had to do was cut off the back of the lamp and go to work with a rotary tool and sanding drum.
