LoadWarrior Direct Mount?

LoadWarrior Direct Mount?
Call me crazy, but can I mount the LoadWarrior directly to my fiberglass topper? I have a 2001 Tacoma DoubleCab. I could buy the rack first, and then mount the basket but this seems unecessary.
When I look the rack mount brackets it appears I could drill through and sandwich the topper between the brackets. I understand this might not be choice for weight distribution but I was wondering what ya'll thought?
Thanks
George

I know that there are people that attach racks to thier fiberglass tops. You are talking about a camper top though. Usually those are not as strong and inflxible as the top on the old 4runners are. But yours may be just as strong.
Anyway, I know that people do it, and don't seem to mind it, but they are limited to about 130-150lbs, in the rack. which may be all you need.
But it seems that over time with weight in the rack bouncing on a fiberglass roof, it will begin to weaken the fiberglass and start to crack, especially aroung the mounting bolts. Those camper tops are not usually designed to hold weight on top of them, so it may be worse for them.
Other people may have other opinions, but personally, I would not put a rack on a fiberglass top. I am having one made for my 1st gen runner because of the fiberglass top.
Good Luck!
