Post Lighting Upgrade

I'm looking at replacing the bulbs in my headlamps and foglights. I've been looking around to see what is out there and I have found alot of people that don't know to much when it comes to this subject.

I'd like to go with bulbs that will give me the bright white lighting you would see on a new BMW or other high end cars. I'm trying to avoid any trendy blue or purple tint. I've been looking at the PIAA and Sylvania Silverstar lines. Any comments?

Also, if I were to replace the signal and stop bulbs, what type of bulb would I be looking for that will give me a uniform appearance?

I'm also interested in the rear backup lights, the stock ones are not strong enough usually so if somebody knows of an upgrade please add that to your response

I run a generic overwatt 80/100w bulb and it is far better then stock and FAR cheaper then the expensive brand name ones. Think I paid a little over $20 for the pair. I am very happy with them. Been running them for years with no wiring harness issues. They are still a nice white light as well.

Upgrade to 4300K HID, I picked up an HID system out of a Cadillac CTS-V that my friend hooked me up with. I couldnt be happier with my lights. They are pure white with a kinda purplish hue.

I'm glad you spoke up since I thought I remembered someone doing that setup. Mason... try going to autozone and getting the back up lamp kit they have there. I bought mine from there and mounted it to my hitch, but I wound up upgrading the lights to some tractor lights.

I have a 3rd gen like you and used Nokya superwhite bulbs. They were free from a friend and they work great. Would love to upgrade to HID's in the near future, though.

I upgraded using the info on Roger Brown's website 4crawler.com He has a wiring harness and I got the healights and bulbs from JC Whitney. I went with the all weather bulbs. They have yellowish tint to them for fog and rain. I am very happy with my headlights now. I will be upgrading the tail lights as per Rogers site also.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I have the PIAA Star White bulbs for both head and fog lights as well as interior lights and corner bulbs...I love em! Perfectly white, I can actually see better than my brother and he has a new Mercedes with the HID...maybe its just personal preference, but my bulbs kick butt. High beams will shoot forever too! Out by my old house it used to get pitch black, and when it was cloudy, you couldn't see 2 feet in front you. With the stock bulbs I had to go atleast 10-15mph slower than the speed limit...now with the PIAA's no worries...bright as day!

Just my pennies for ya though, its all personal preference.

Fink
