Light bar roundup
Now that I'm living in the land of 33's, my next mod will be a light bar. I've been looking into several different bars, but what I really want is one that does not require drilling the bumper. I really like the downey light bar, and I know it connects to the frame, but does any know if it needs to be bolted to the bumper?
Love, peace and axle grease!

Sid, I think with those light bars you still have to drill a hole at the end of your bumper for support.
I could be wrong though.
Here are some old pics before I got my ARB bumper on how I mounted my Hella 500s onto the stock Toyota bumper.

Just one hole for each lamp.
It was fairly easy to do, and I did have to buy a long socket extension to get form below to tighten the nut on the bolt way up there.

hey sid, If you maybe thought about puttin lights on TOP of your rig, then CARR has some nice lightbars, they even have one that folds down, so the lights are out of the way, and clearance isbetter. Just a thought.

the westin brush gaurd i have for my t-100 didnt have any holes to drill into the bumper , but it does have two metal hooks that attach to top back lip of the bumper , hard to explain i guess.
i got mine off ebay for $125 plus shiping.
it was brand new , the side supports are like 1/2 thick and fairly heavy , my only problem i encountered was the lights i used are too large to fit between the two round bars , but i solved this by mouning them underthe lower bar , which works fine for me , some may say ill have problems with rocks and such , but so far so good . other then mounting them upside down and collecting water a bit , they are fine , i did drill a small hole i nthe casing to drain water, if the lights had been mounted the other way i dontthink they would have had any problem , im not sure what size lights for the 4runner westin bar would fit in between, but i got some pretty big ones .
