lifting my 02 4runner

Ive been wanted to lift my 4runner for some time now and I have finally paid it off and fixed what needed fixing so i can start doing real mods. When i bought it, it needed rear shocks BADLY so i threw on some OME n86 comforts in plans of getting OME all the way around down the road. so for the rear im going to get some 891s and keep the N86's. Now the front has been on my mind lately. I really think i want some adjustable CO's so i need some suggestions. I have been doing some research and im noticing that people say if your going to get CO's dont get the toytecs and get SAW, kings or icons instead. Im thinking the SAW 2.0s will fit the bill, what do you think? People are saying they got the 650lb springs, are there different rates you can get? is 650 the best overall? I would love to get a ARB or TJM up there but that wont happen for awhile. What do you guys thing about the OME and SAW shock combo?

So far the overall plans are

Front:
CO's most likely SAW 2.0s
i have a leaky upper ball joint so ill take care of it then, should i do both while im at it?
diff drop kit

Rear
Already have OME shocks in place and air lift 1000
going to get OME 891's
fab up a panhard drop bracket that fits the lift.
do i need rear brake lines?

So far thats the plan. opinons? comments? all are welcome. thanks.

sounds like you have a plan, I would do both ball joints while you have everything apart, unless the first one is utterly horrible to do.

I am running the 891's and I got the extended brake line, I probably could have gotten away with it since i only have one line to the axle. I believe the newer runners have separate brake lines for each side.

Also in regards to your front co's you might want to check on toytec's coil overs. I got them and love them, nice and simple.

Im running FJ80 coils in the back which are taller than the OMEs along with a 1 inch spacer and havent had any problems with stock brakelines at full flew so you shouldnt have to extend.

I know your said that you wanted to keep with the OME setup in the rear, however, I would highly recommend taking a look at the Sonoran Steel lift kits. There really isnt another lift out there that offers the off-road capability of the System 1.2. The downside is the cost of the kit, but if you are looking at SAWs and Icon, you seem to be ready to drop some cash either way.

Well Toytec's are a bilstein shock with eibach coils that is adjustable by height. So they are a top quality shock with a top quality coil on them. I would go with the 650lb rate on them, they might be stiff at first (mine were for about a month), then they broke in and now they ride and flex nicely.

The real difference in them is that SAW's are rebuild able and revalveable, and would probably need to be rebuilt ever so often (every few years).

Which the totec's are not user serviceable and i think they will last a very long time.

ive looked at the SS lifts, thing is im the CO's will be a xmas present and im not planning on getting tires very soon so the 4in from the fj80 coils i not what i want right now.

That is good to know about the SAWs vs the toytecs. i guess to service the toytecs you just have to get a new strut?
