Lifting a 95 4runner

Well its now time for me to lift the 4runner a little. Im going to buy the 265/70/17 Terra Grapplers and a want some lift to my 2WD. I've come up with 2 options: turn torsion bars up and put the lift coils in the back; or find a 2 inch body lift for the 4runner. I really would rather do the body lift but maybe someone has done one of these and can tell me whether or not they liked it. Thanks!

Hi Chris, long time no hear.

If you have an auto, a 2" requires some modding I beleive to the steering shaft.
The guy to talk to is Roger Brown.

With a 1" body lift, no mods.

Since you have 2WD, you don't have to worry about CV boot angles up front, so you can get away with cranking it more.
But the more crank is dialed in, the rougher it will be, and you will launch skyward more going over a speed bump.

The Downey coils in the rear will certainly bring you up 2" back aft.

Chris if you look at this thread for some before and after pics with the Downey coils. They also make a 1 1/2" spacer kit that in conjunction with the coils gives you 3" in the rear. Another alternative is just plain old spring spacers. Let us know what set up you decide to go with. Also shoot me an email if you have any questions.
