lift - tire ratio questions

hey everyone. I am going to lift my '99 sr5 4x2. I am planning on doing the 2.5 inch spacers all the way around and then the diff. drop kit., but what bout tires? i want to continue to use my stock 16x7 rims. I need some tire that is going to not be too noisy on the highway and doesnt totally kill my top end to where i have to re gear. any suggestions? i was thinking either 285/75r16's

If its a 4x2 (as in 2WD), then no need to use a diff drop kit (as in front differential), since you don't have one. About the only thing you might do is a rear panhard drop bracket, perhaps this is what you meant.

A good set of All-Terrain tires would be good, I like my BFG A/T KOs.

Ditto Roger's comments about the diff drop/panhard bracket.

As for tires... 285s will fit with minimal rubbing. I also suggest ATs, though I'm not a fan of BFGs. IMO, Bridgestone Duelers are a much better on-road AT.
