Exclamation Lift Questions

i have a 94 4runner sr5 4wd i am lookin for atleast a 2-3 inch lift that won't be a burden on the wallet. i went to a 4wd parts center and they told me i could put 2" ome coils on the back and they could just adjust the torsion bars in the front to raise the front? what do u guys recommend 4 this. the cheapest lift i could find was about 1100 and it was a 4" which i don't need. i am lookin 4 something smaller but just enough. any help on this topic will be helpfull.

thanks.

welcome noob! i too am from ga and its good so see another person from here!!. anyway, i think that sounds like a pretty good idea if you are going to crank up your torsion bars you might want to add manual hubs so you dont wear out your cv joints. i think most guys here run the downey HD coils to raise up the back and get rid of the sag instead of OME. hey, do you happen to know how much 4wd parts center charges for a torsionbar install?

i think the estimate for just adjustin torsion bars was like $65. how hard is it to change and how much is it to change to manual hubs? i would use downey coils but the old man emu ones are on clearence at 4wd parts center in duluth for cheap so i wanna jump on the deal. would the coils and the torsion adjustment make a noticable difference? just wondering. thanks

it make a difference..your rear sag would definatly be gone and youd have a bit of a more agressive stance.

You can get a good 2" body lift for under $100. I have downey coils on my Runner and I love 'em. I haven't cranked my torsion bars and I dont really need to I like the back a little higher. On top of the coils you could put some spacers also. I think with 1.5" coils, 1.5" spacers and a 2" body lift you could easly clear 33's.

Trek - Auto or 5spd?

If auto, go Downey, OME or Performance Products (saweet) springs, torsion bar adjust and a 1" body lift from 4crawler (Roger Brown). If 5spd, you have more options. You can do a larger body lift and maybe a small spacer with stock coils, or you can do the same listed above for the auto.

You can crank stock Tbars a bit, but they supposedly get harsh - I haven't experienced this. If you go ARB/TJM and winch you might want to consider the SAW Tbars (25mm) or Downey (26mm). Stock is like 22.5mm or so.
