Why just the front? I dont know of any four inch lifts that only cost $300. You can get a three inch body lift for $115 and 1.5 inch Downey coil spacers for around $100 to $150. That would put you at 4.5 inches. Dont quote me on the pricing but the body lift price sounds about right. For my 2nd gen runner my susp. lift was over a grand and body lift over $200 then add $227 per thirtyfive inch tire including the full size thirtyfive inch spare. I think for $300 what I said should work. Any other opinions on this?

same topic question

with the coil spacers, don't they just make them for the rear? if so, then what do you do to level out the front, torsion bar lift?

An '86 doesn't have coils anyway. It's torsion bar front/leaf spring rear.

Could pick up up the front lift and then a block (ick) for the rear. Then later on replace the blocks with new springs.

I have a pair of 3" blocks you could have for cheap. You'd need to get some new u-bolts and shocks for them though.

You beat me too it.

Watch sites like the PBB for people who have ditched the IFS and are selling their old lift kits. I know of a few people who have gotten good deals on complete lifts that were used for a while.

PBB is Pirate 4x4 Bulletin Board. Not a site for the faint-of-heart or easily intimidated. Some of the greatest 4wd tech available on the web if you can deal with the behavior of some of its members. While there are a few "search-nazis" over here, it pales to those found over there. It's usually best to visit there and search the archives for your answer than to post up a stupid (or worse yet, often repeated) question and get flamed hard for it. Problem now is that the archives are so huge and half the search hits are people asking a similar question and getting nothing but the "search" reply.
