I'll try to get some pics.
If I see him this week when I am home for spring break I'll ask him. I really can't stand the guy, but it'll give me something to do.

My mind is made up that when it comes time for a new motor i'll try to go with ~2.4 or 3.0 liter Turbo Diesel.
For twice the power with half the fuel its the only engine swap worth considering IMHO. Only problem might be inspection, and of course the cost of the install.

I'm sure it can be done... but i'm afraid of the pricetag
This reminds me of the Millen transplant a while back... I remember reading something about Rod/Steve swapping a Lex motor into a FJ40 -- widened the track and redid the entire body in silver... quite a piece of work.
there was a street rod too, with a v8 lexus powerplant. I've been searching for pics, but no luck.

Idiot?? I think not.. That is a hell of a good motor, and if the truck is decent.. You are taking the best generation 4Runner with what I believe is Toyota's best motor and mating them?? I would love to see that!!
BTW, I think the Tundra V8 was only in the 100 series Cruiser making it a high power shoping mall minivan, not a Cruiser.. Cruiser heads will tell you frankly the Cruser dies with the end of the 80 series and even the 80 was the red headed stepchild...

He's certainly not an idiot. If he did the swap himself, then I would describe him as one hell of a fabricator and engineer. I just question the cost and time to complete such a hibrid. I just keep picturing an old rusty Runner with this great motor. I would certainly change my mind if it turns out to be some incredible, one of a kind, show quality truck. I just couldn't see myself taking on a similar project. Again, to each his own.

Millen's Retro Cruiser
That is right, Millen took that FJ40, lengthened and widened it, and installed the custom 4 wheel independent suspension under it with the Lexus V8 and full leather interior. It was called the "Retro Cruiser" and it was valued at $350,000
