Left tail light blinks with right blinker?!
I have a 97 4runner sr5 with 180k, I bought the truck a couple months ago, just put a new clutch in and it drives mint!! I'm not so sure what's up with the left tail light tho, all my lights work the way they should except my left tail light blinks when I use my right blinker? I have no idea what to do I've been fiddling with it here and there but no solution and its starting to get under my skin, if you have any ideas please help!!! Thanks.

No trailor, I switched out the left tail light bulb and put it on the right side and now my right tail light blinks with my left blinker. Could it possibly be a faulty bulb? It's a dual filament and it looks in tact.

I see the rear turn-signal bulb as a 7440 (http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...440_0278138250) which is a single filament.
As a precaution - I think all 4Runners are wired for trailer lights, but the wire loom stops short. You may have a taillight converter "black box" in either your driver or passenger side rear cargo compartment or behind a panel. That can ground out or get pinched. That being said if that were the case then it should affect your front turn signals too I believe.
My two cents - start with the bulb.

before you buy a bulb you should test it to check if its a wiring problem. get your hands on a volt meter and test the tail light with the blinker on. it probably wont be a clean signal but it should pulse.
trouble shoot before you spend money.

I have a single filament for blinkers and dual for tail/brake. I also noticed that the 3rd brake light blinks as well. I checked all bulbs and there good. I'm no wiring expert but I think that's my problem. Any more advice will be appreciated. I've tried looking everywhere for solutions
