leaking shock?

I did a search but didn't really find anything.

My driver’s side shock appears to be leaking. The passenger side looks fine. The best way to describe it is the lower section of the shock is coated in a grease or oil. The oil/grease is also on the lower two coils of the spring. However, the suspension does not appear to be affected. I notice no excessive bounce when pushing down on the bumper. It appears to ride normally.

I still have about 3 months and 3k miles left on the warranty. I want to see if anyone more knowledgeable than I could give me a diagnosis based on the picture and description of the issue. I would much prefer telling the dealer what to fix instead of getting the run around.

thanks

You'll notice a difference soon. Have Toyota swap out both shocks before the warranty is up. Cost to them shouldn't be that much so I don't think they'll give you too much trouble.
