Leaking rear axle seals..stealer came through

My 99 has 53k and as I was backing out of the drive the other day and noticed the brakes were poor. This typically means rear brake adjustent is out or rear brakes not working. I learned this from my 96 when backing up with the trailer.

So, I pull a wheel and rear hub (BTW, two M8 bolts in the threaded holes make it much easier to get the hub off) and the pads are soaked in gear lube

This is familiar unfortunately as my 96 eventually had a complete rear axle, hub to hub to fix this problem.

Anyway, go into dealer, explain issue and diagnosis, also explain front rotors now warped due to excessive heat as rear brakes not working.

Well, I get a loaner and 48 hrs later, they have replaced both rear seals, rear brake shoes, front rotors and pads. Warranty cost around $500, my cost zero.

I had the brake fluid replaced and flushed the system and they changed the oil with the Amsoil Series 2000 I provided...my total cost $68

Awesome...better go check my diff breather this weekend.

BTW, I have some almost new Dueller A/T's s for sale in the classified.
