2003 Tacoma SR5, V6 S/C w/ 7th Injector URD, 5 speed, Xtra-cab
I drove my truck up a 5000 ft mountain pass to camp last weekend..When I got there and stopped at a fishing hole I noticed oil all windblown in the front driverside wheel well by the brake line and all over the frame..At first I thought it was the brake line leaking but after poping the hood to take a look it was not..
It was coming from two oil lines that are capped with these little breather cap looking things and attached to the fender wall in the engine bay on the same side....The lines seem to be coming from under the engine some where..Its like oil blew out of there then the wind spread it every where..
I had to add about a 1/2 a quart of oil and the oil on the dip before adding any looked nice and golden..

Anybody have this happen before or know what might have caused this..It has never happened before and the oil level is holding for the last 3 days since..

those breather lines are either from your front diff, trans, or maybe transfercase (not sure if it has a breather or not), so maybe you had a clog in the line and the rise in pressure going up at altitude blew it out, or maybe you had overfilled diff or trans and it expelled extra fluid.

Check your levels and check your breather lines then remove the breather heads to see if theyre clogged with anything.
