i found my radiator leakin today. i inspected it carefully and found that it was leaking from the plug in the bottom corner. im assummin that that is the drain plug. its a white plastic plug. i thought it was loose, so i gave it a small turn. it seemed to stop the leak! COOL! then i drove around... and when i got home, the leak was back! UGH!. so i checked it. turned it some more...k ept on turning!... then broke! :pat: so now a lil piece of the plastic plug is stuck and its just leaking.

i guess imma have to go to toyota or somewhere and get a new plug. but how do i get the platic piece out?

I don't know what the proper technical way to do this would be but I think I'd get out my drill and make a hole 1/8" and screw in a 3/16 just enough to get a good purchase and then try to pull it out with pliers.

Unless of course this thing is threaded... than I have no idea what I'd do.

What tacoma dude said should work. If not, an EZout will do it, but I think that's probably overkill. If you can find a left handed screw at the hardware store it would be cheaper than an EZout.

thanks for your help everyone! I got the plug out. drilled a hole... turned out that the drill went in diagnal.... then i took the drill bit by itself, and since it was crooked, i just turned the drill bit like a handle and screwed the piece out.

now the hard part was finding a replacement drain cock. i dont have a stock toyota radiator... so i went to kragen and found one that matched the thread. you kno how the drain cock has the main thread then the long piece of plastic that goes into the radiator, approx 3/4" or something like that. is that important? coz with the new one, i couldnt get it in so i cut it off, so all thats left was the thread. im guessing its ok... and that long piece is just to hold the drain cock in the radiator if it comes loose and trys to fall out?

am i right?
