LCE alternator work on 3rd Gen?

Our cashier/parts runner has a '91 4Runner V6 so I asked if I could take a look at the engine. I parked next to hers and opened the hoods. I noticed the alternator brackets were nearly identical to each other. I was wondering of this alternator from LCE would work for mine? LCE Alternator After searching, I thought maybe either doing this or the MR2 alternator. Another question. With the MR2 alternator, is the electric power steering integrated with the alternator? Can I replace my belt driven one with it?

It's cheaper than any other options that I know of.

High RPM Applications Only.
not what you want for off-roading, probably puts out less amps at idle than the stocker

Aw dang! :pat: I didn't see that, thanks metal. I guess it's back to the MR2 mod then.

Could you fix this with a slightly smaller pulley?

Might be a cheap alternative.

Yes, you can. I have a smaller pulley awating install on my Mr. Alternator. Should be an easy swap.

Good. Where do you get your pulleys?

Thanks,

Al
