Keys for 2002 Tacoma
I need a second set of keys. Friends say I need to go to the dealer and buy em there. This is because of a "chip" in the key itself. This what the key looks like.

the large keys with the black plastic bulge have the chip. The thinner ones do not. I know this is a difficult way to describe it, but if it is thick, then you have to pony up the $85 a key

There is no chip in my key in my 2002 either. I bought 2 remotes off ebay for $30. Just make sure you get the instructions to program them to you truck.

yeah, negative on the chip in my key for my 2004 taco.

ive got a 96 runner w/o chip.

my dads got a 04 sequoia w/chip

No chip. Just go to the hardware store and get one made for 50 cents.
