You can get them fairly cheap off e-bay.

Doing the same thing right now.

Got my pants stolen with my last remote in them, so now I am just using the key to open/close the runner, which is not that bad.

Just ordered a remote off eBay... It showed up and of course it was the GREY one, which is the WRONG one. It looked black in the picture, but, I didn't ask the guy. Doh.

So, I'm just going to buy another one from eBay.

The commando 870 is the popular alarm w/ remote start, but, I dont really have the time or money for it. But, its only $180 .. not too bad really.

It's really upto you what you want. I remote is going to be A LOT cheaper than replacing the whole unit but, if you plan to do that anyways why waste the cash now on just a remote. On the other hand if your strapped for cash then just get a remote and think about what you want to put on there.

What were you doing with your pants off in a place where they could've been stolen? :

lol...

I already had a thread on this! I was at this uh... crazy GAY festival... uhh.. yah.

No, actually I was surfing and some assclown decided to break into my dad's truck and steal both our pants. Second time this has happened at the same break. Luckily, this has only happened twice in my 20 years of surfing!

I would say just replace the alarm with one that has remote start. Not only is it very nice on a cold/hot day but it also impresses your friends. You seem to have nice tast and are in the process of building up a nice 4runner so why not go with the extra touches?
