No thermal coating in a rattle can, sorry. There is thermal coating that is matte black in finish though, that's what i got on my headers. The other issue in my eyes is the welds around the inside of the primary tubes on the flange. Big restriction. I had mine welded up around the outside then ground the inside smooth. You will just love putting the nuts on the studs with these headers.... I cut my studs down. So far, 7K miles and no leaks though.

Thermal coating has to be applied by a shop. Not a home application thing unless you have the know-how and the correct equipment and material, which is not available in a rattle can. If you find it in a rattle can, it's not the right stuff and don't waste your money.

Heres a pic of it. Stripped of the paint and hi temp ceramic paint rated at 1500f. Judging that i need the egr port welded to be blocked off and the cross over connection to be welded im really skeptical on my decision of keeping them. The bilsteins and addco combo looks like more of a worthwhile upgrade =- /.

kevin,
this was one of the writeups that i was talking about today w/ you. as you've read too, the quality is not as good as trd (but still usable) and the install is a mutha. the thing that seems oddly out of place is his comment about the neck snapping accelleration. this is the only writeup or opinion that ive ever read where someone described it as such.
you know what i'm gonna say, so i wont repeat it

Alright guys. On superbowl sunday and 2 buddies of mines who decided to tackle it. Well the damn 2nd cat will be in-compatible with my truck. So we aborted! $300 shipped gets it. On the plus side i made a egr block out plate to block off the egr port on the driver side headers. Sooo yeah pm me if interested. Looks like bilstein will go on there!

I did the cherry bomb in place of the cat, bad idea. Combine it with 3 inch piping and a flow master 40=very loud. I would pass buy on the freeway, and my friends could hear me comming for more than a mile away. As for the headers, where is the cheapest place to buy them? And why does downey not recomend it for the 4runners with body lifts.
