Just had a Pioneer double DIN deck put in
the 4Runner. The sound is sweet not to mention the iPod hookup. Fits perfect- now I just have to switch all the dash lights to blue. Anyone have any success with switching over the lights? It's the Pioneer FH-P8000BT. Took about 30 minutes to put in with a friend that knew what he was doing.

sounds like it has everything, except the ability to make you a sandwich while you drive! looks pretty nice for a double DIN, i like the blue but i'm surprised they didn't offer the ability to change the colors like they have on so many other stereos.
with the USB input, is that powered so you could just plug in an external hard drive and play music off of it? some day, i would love to have that feature where i would have access to a TB of music files, maybe even uncompressed or HD audio files without switching discs. that would rule!
also, your link has an extra http:// so you can find the specs and pics of the head unit here:

Yeah, I've looked at those and they're a very nice unit. It kind of has a McIntosh look.
I'm leaning toward the AVIC-F90BT, myself. Maybe next year.

As for blue lighting, look at www.superbrightleds.com for their WLED-x5 LED Wedge Base Bulbs http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html

I am currently accessing about 300gb of FLAC files through a USB DAC that plugs into my PC via a USB porta, and into my vintage audio system via the ol standard RCA patch cords. The sound is flawless, CD quality since FLACs are lossless, as opposed to MP3.
I'd LOVE to have this same capability in my 4runner! I'm guessing that if this is not possible now, it won't be long until it is...

Looks good, hit up www.v-leds.com and replace the rest of your stock pale green lighting to match your blue deck.
