just did an engine swap on 94Runner...

i just had a brand new engine dropped in my 94runner V6 3.0. I had a local Toyota dealer do it, and everything seems right except for one thing. Does $512 sound right for a new oil cooler??? I was charged that on the bill, and i just want to know if that sounds ok to you guys.

$519 for an oil cooler?

Honestly, I don't know but that seems excessively high.

Maybe they're trying to get even with you with the oil cooler.

That's more like a price for an oil cooler off a diesel or something.

My dad, who has a FORD DIESEL pays $500 for a water pump, which I know has nothing in correlaton, but I'm just trying to give you an idea.

What's the reason for a new engine. What happened to your other engine?

That sounds like a high price, however I would not put it past the dealer to charge that much.

Here is an example, a Greddy oil cooler kit for a Supra TT is just over $500. Greddy is very high-end. I would say you got shafted. Call up TOR here on the boards. He will give you list price on that item, and then his price.

94 4Runner engine oil cooler:

15710-65051 = $509.60 according to my estimate guide book.

Why was it changed? if external damaged it would be yours, if caused by the failed engine (internal), you would think it would have been covered under the warrantee
