Talking Just did the Deckplate Mod...

And it sounds incredible! I highly recommend it to anybody who hasn't done it yet. Took me about an hour and a half, and the majority of that was dremel work to get the hole the right size. Since I'm a moron, I assumed a 4" deckplate meant it would go in a 4" hole. Rather, 4" is the internal diameter of the deckplate's hole when the cap is removed.

So, after drilling a 4" hole with a hole saw, I had to painstakingly dremel it out to make the deckplate fit. But, after the frustrating work and many hot plastic flakes on my arms, when you really put the hammer down in my rig, it sounds downright BEASTLY. I couldn't be happier with the results! It's the first mod I've done on my 4Runner, and now that I've done it, I see why people fall in love with these trucks. I know I have with mine!

You think it sounds beastly now? Just wait until you remove the intake silencer.

Did you make the intermediate hose yourself, or buy it somewhere?

Deckplate and ISR were my first mods too. They are both so simple and satisfying, even if they don't truly contribute much to performance.

Definitely do the ISR next. You can use the stock tube. I did like the tutorial and used PVC caps and JB Weld to block up the holes, a plumbing hose attachment, and a short piece of hose from AutoZone for vacuum line.

You should do LED dash conversion next. Costs about $25-$35 for LED's and an hour or two of time.

Yeah, I've been doing some research on the ISR mod. Just gotta find a muffler shop in Fort Worth to bend me some pipe. Can't wait to hear how it turns out; when I first went WOT after doing the deckplate, I couldn't get the stupid grin off my face
