Congratulations, and welcome to the club. You'll love it.

I'm a mostly stock guy, so I'll leave the mod suggestions to others.

Just curious - Is this Runner's history clean? To my very untrained eye, there are quite a few different shades of oak & black (a non-stock interior color, I believe) in the interior. I'd be wondering if the airbags had been deployed at some point, necessitating the replacement of some of the dash components.

Definitely not trying to rain on a parade - I'm just curious. Enjoy that thing. It should treat you nicely.

Sounds like you're off to a good start. If you're going to be 4 Wheeling, you might consider rock sliders & a locker.

If you intend to run larger tires and wheel, I recommend you install an aftermarket tranny cooler and bypass the stock radiator.

Also, do you know when the timing belt was done? If over 60-70K, do that too.

The 4runners are fairly bullet proof, but there are chinks in the armor.

96' or 97'..?

Don't forget to also look at your rear wheel bearings..common failure...Also,might want to look into the Tundra front brake upgrade when it needs front drakes..

Don't worry, my '96 Limited has the exact same interior.

Nice 4runner! Is it a '97? Looks just like mine. Looks good sans the sunning boards, too.

Re the switch, bigt is referring to this...

Welcome,

I love my 4Runner. Just dont hit any curbs at the wrong angle.

As far as mods maybe start with the center consul mod, and the deck plate mod!

Welcome, how many miles? Rancho/Procomp is a question mark, make sure to get the diff drop too.

Can't help but notice all the garbage in the pic, did a hurricane just hit?

why would you be not sure about the rancho/procomp set up. You think OME is that much better and what actualy is a diff drop

what is a center consul mod?

the deck plate mod is going to be next, there is nothing wrong by doing that?

If you want to see some of the stuff I've done, or need help with anything, I live in Mission...I'd be glad to help!(I've also got access to the shop at Toyotatown)

Congrats on the runnah. Search and search again, read and read again, ask and ask again before doing. Measure trice cut once. Best advice i can offer. Good luck.

Center console mod = cupholder mod.

Here's mine: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/y...er-mod-156185/

Diff drop lowers the front differential, dereasing the angles of the front CV joints.

http://www.sonoransteel.com/store_ta...diff_drop.html

Checked the ProComp website & I can't find an application for a '96 4Runner, so I can't comment on their kit.
