Just bought a 98 4runner with a 5 speed
Hi I just bought a 4runner today, and just was wondering how I did. I probably should have researched my purchase a little better before I bought it, but I've owned Toyotas before and knew it was hard to go wrong..
Ok - It's a '98 SR5 with a V6, 5 speed manual, some kind of transfer case lock thing?, cloth seats, moonroof, 31" tires and 85,000 miles. Condition is pretty good - just normal wear - though it needs to be cleaned pretty good.
7800 Paid maybe just a little higher than a private party sale should go for?
Anyways, I can't wait to get it out on the beach and 4 wheeling..and I look forward to learning more about our trucks! This looks like a really nice site!

for that price and the miles, i would say if it is mechanical good you got a good deal. I paid about that for my 97 with 90k on the clock, but it was pristine, until i took it offroad.
welcome to the party
oh and find out when the timing belt was last changed, if it hasnt been yet you might want to look into doing that.

Really? I just double checked and there is definately a button next to the dimmer control that says "RR DIFF LOCK". That's great! I knew the manual transmission was rare. I guess the locker is too.

those manual trannys in 3rd gens are also pretty rare. You just got uber lucky and scored one with the e-locker too.
