I ran 285s with a 2" Roger Brown body lift and had rubbing onroad only when I went over culverts in the road or turned sharply while going up/down and incline and it was minimal. You should be fine as long as you stay on road.

Was that with the stock or aftermarket wheels?

I have a '98 and started with a 3" susp. lift and then added 285/75/16's and rubbed a little. I added a 2" BL two weeks ago and I don't rub anymore, but I'm making room for the 305/75/16's which will be next.
my rec, stick with 265's if you're only slapping on the body lift. A side note, be ready to trim away a little of your shifter plate and clear some of the rubber boot away so you can get it into 2nd and 4th.

also, if you go with the 285's, you'll want to trim the valence where it meets the front wheel well and remove the front mud guards. I removed both the front and the rear because in a good flexxy situation off of the road they would catch the lugs in the tars and I didn't want to rip them off.
If you plan on wheeling, go with 265/75/16's, I ran those with no lift and was really close to rubbing but never actually did.

"Waskilly", What I meant was did you rub with the stock wheels or the wider ones, or both?
"Keisur", The lift is allready been done and you're right about the shifter boots, I did trim away some of the boots but I ended up with extra road noise from the modified boots, so what I ended up doing was fabbing up a lower base for the boots to attach to. It's hard to explain what I did and if I had a digital camera I would snap a couple of shots, oh well.

Perfect, so there could possibly be less rubbing with the 16 x 7 wheels as opposed to the 16 x 8's or minimal difference? I guess it depends on the offset that you had as well too, so, It looks like 285's is the way to go.
