Accident or Intentional.. if option 2 why do that to your Runner?
Reminds of my the video series by CKY . They are some of the guys from Jackass doing insane stunts. One thing they do is launch a 2nd Gen over a bridge and fly about 45 feet.(real low to the ground). They also jump it a bunch more times. It keeps rolling throughout the vid but I imagine the front end was pretty much toast.

Mr Intentional,

Yes I Launch my truck on purpose

r2xj- Sounds similar to my jump. At the edge of town theres a travel agency next to a grassy noll followed by a steep gully. I hit the noll landed on the other side clearing about 14' of dirt and braked while turnning at the same time to avoid being stuck in the gully. My friend hit his head on the rear view mirror and knocked it clear off. I found it in the grass yesterday I have no idea how it made it out of the truck.

Does anyone know how to fasten a broken rear view mirror on a 3rd gen? Crazy glue? JB weld?

No one gets air like Mr Jim and Wrongway Bill on our last trip a few weeks back.

Jim's Pathy:

Bill's '85 truck:

If you have not seen the vids yet, look on page II of my trip report.
http://www.pnw4runners.net/runs/11_9_02/11_09_2002.htm

Mike has some vids called air nissan, and Wild Bill linked from page II of my report.
Also watch this 20 mb video.

Best to right click it and save.

Corey- It looks like someone took those pictures a little to early. I hate it when that happens... was that a flat landing or was there a transition downhill?

Have you been to Trinidad near Eureka? Perfect sand dunes for jumping..awesome transition...

It's a flat landing at the top.

If you watch the vids too, you will see the Nissan with all 4 wheels off the ground at once.

You will also see him roll his rig in another video.
If the tree had not stopped him, he would have gone all the way over.

Never been to the area you mentioned,
I have not jumped this rig, mor do I plan on it.

I had my '90 truck I had airborne a few times, but nothing like these guy's in the vids.

The best I've ever done was get my front wheels a tiny bit off the ground coming out of a mud puddle.

Thumbs up

hehe this is a funny thread... Good links to corey. I jump my 1st gen almost on a weekly basis. Its not the air that breaks things, it comming back to earth hehe I have a rad rail road crossing right by my house, and i just cant resist the urge! It does have a nice sloped takeoff and landing.
