Does more holes in the air box = more intake sound??

Your air intake box, intake silencers, and all of the intake line acts like a muffler. Making holes in your box is like making holes in your muffler. If you are going to make holes only make one which can be plugged especially if you ever go through water. Are you looking for more sound?

I don't remember exactly what the 2nd gens intake looks like, but there should be some silencers that you can replace and if you never go through deep water you can consider a cone filter to replace your box.
