Unhappy Jarring ride question.

I recently installed Rancho 9000xl shocks and have found that when I go over bumps in the road, even little one, I get this jarring bump up front that wasnt there before the install. I've tried adjusting the settings between 1 through 9 but its still the same. I can feel the vibrations transferring up to the steering wheel.

When I installed the front struts, the bottom didnt line up exactly with the shock mount and I had to torque it about 1/4 of an inch to get it to line up. Could that have caused the jarring feeling?

I need help. Not sure what to do next.
