ISR question

I've seen people do the ISR mod with both metal pipe and pvc... but why not rubber hose? is there some reason that rubber hose won't work?

and yes I searched

Metal and PVC will hold up better to different conditions. Sturdier, stronger...alsoyou have to have something solid in order to reconnect the two hoses (at least for the 2nd gen). Just my $0.02.
