IRS mod

Is there a way to change over the rear suspension to an independant suspension like the front? And what would be the pros and cons?

You'll get less wheel travel, more likely to break since there are more moving parts and will probably be very expensive.

IRS huh? .... HUmmers come independant all around and they kick ass. they have some serious clearance for if/rs .

i saw one handle a rock course w no problems. just plowed over them like nothing. scraped his lower arms a few times, but nothing to it.

you wouldnt be a rockcrawler... i bet you could do some sick desert racing. they have long travel kits for the front, im sure they could fab something for the rear... with the coil overs going thru the bed.

i think it would b a sweet idea. but then... you should just get a CRV or something. lol JUST KIDDING!

it would BE HELLA EXPENSIVE I BET

no more solid axle in the rear. you have to get a new axle fabed... control arm mounts... omg, its endless.

cool idea though. just depends on what you'd wanna do with it.

dont forget that it has a 3500 lb load capacity and portal hubs. those hubs give about an extra 5 in. of ground clearance.

randy ellis just built a competition rockcrawler with ifs/irs. that thing is pretty cool.

i am thinking of doing an irs swap on like a tracker/sidekick using toyota ifs setup. that way there would be rear steer, and i think it would be hella cool.
