Okay so here is my dilemma, I have a 3rz-FE 4runner 2wd, that I am looking to convert to 4wd. Finding a 4wd 2.7 4runner is damn near impossible, I can find about 2 that are salvaged in the country per month. On the other hand, the 2.7 4wd Tacoma is much more prevalent, and my IAAI always has one at my branch. My question is, how interchangeable are the parts? The transmission will bolt up? Transmission mount? Differential mount? What about the ECU, would it be compatible? If they were all the same it would make it so much easier!
