Intake Silencer Removal Question???

Question Intake Silencer Removal Question???

After searching for this mod, I haven't been able to find the answer to my question...
Where should I connect the FPR hose, I have a 2000 SR5 2wd.

I read:
"2002 Intake Silencer Removal Mod 3rd Gen 3.4 Engine:
Paul (ALBPM)"

and

"Intake Silencer Removal Mod 3rd Gen 3.4 Engine:
Galen (Dr. Zhivago) "

Those instructions are for a 4x4 and I don't have the hoses that they are using to connect the FRP hose.

I initially pull out the hose and put a 7/32 vacuum cap on there.
If I do that, I will have full pressure at all times. My question is, how bad is to have fuel pressure at all times?

I have the 2 1/2 sch .40 PVC tube I want to chage it for the stainless pipe. Where can I buy a stainless pipe to replace the silencer box?

Follow Dr. Z's recommendations. It's not bad to run with the FPR plugged all the time. Dr. Z has found that to be the best set-up for the 99's and up. The 96 - 98's are a different story.

As for the stainless pipe, I think most guys got it at a muffler shop.

My next question is, if is not bad to have pressure all the times, why do our rigs have a Fuel Pressure Regulator for?

After Dr. Z discovered that it was better to run with the FPR capped. I disconnected the FPR from the plenum on my 02 4x4.

I thought it would be best to have some vacuum on the FPR so I went back to my original setup using a "T" and connecting it to the EVAP hose.

I dont think Toyota figured we would be removing their silencers and cutting in deckplates.

It also may have something to do with open and closed loop operation. Dr Z could explain it better. Where is Galen anyway?
