installing cd/mp3 deck -problem with AM

I have a 03 4runner and took it to future shop do have a Cd/MP3 player installed. After they installed it my AM reception was very weak so I couldn't listen to the local sports channels. The tech says it is because of the window antenna.

Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions.
We tried a Sony and a JVC deck same problem.

Thanks.

Well, I don't listen to AM stations much, but I have noticed that my FM reciver is a little sensitive when it comes to passing larger trucks or going under bridges.

I never had the same problem with my stock deck.

I installed my deck on my own and noticed that when I'm driving at night my AC&Heater LCD display is REALLY dim. I think the problem for me is the location of the remote swtch. Meh oh well, It wont bug me too much.

Aslo, as for AM stations from what I understand are also sensitive. Maybe trying an alternitive anntenna from radio shack, I guess that might help.
