I ground the arms and installed them. Looks good and we really softened up the t-bars. The 92 Mini should be on par with the Frankensteins.

You can grind a very nice factory looking arc into the back of the arms with a 4.5" grinder and an abrasive disc.

The empty spot where pic #10 would go is for a trail shot. It should do well.

Moving into the old junk, eh?

I have been curious about torque specs on the stuff to crank it down. Did you just cinch them tight?

Did you take the upper arm all the way off to install and paint it? Looks almost new.

We just lostened up the t-bars and un-bolted the upper ball joint. The key is not to let the arm hang down too far with everything undone, the tripod will pull out and then you gotta stick it back in. That only happens when it's all apart.

Vern said taking the upper arms completely off is a huge PITA. So no I repainted it right there on the truck.

You can actually push down on the front now.

We just tightened everything up real good. The t-bars are almost all the way out. Nice and soft.

Steve, thanks for the great info and pics. I have the spacers but won't be able to get them in for about a month or so. About how long did it take to install them start to finish - including disassembly and grinding/painting etc.

A couple of hours. I took the 92 Mini out to Florence Junction to the "testing area" and but the t-bars thought the pace.

Much much much better, but the Frankenstein’s still have the edge. We took the t-bars down to the arms being completely level and the front being soft to the push. It did do amazing for an 86-95, but it's no 3rd Gen.

Both vehicles have the Exact same tires. Those are my old MT/R's on the Mini so you see they are EXACTLY the same tires.
