Indiglo Gauges

Hi there Fella's!

Just ordered a set of indiglo gauges on ebay from, msispeed, the same guy that lt335 got his from so i can be pretty sure there will be no problems with them (touch wood!) Seems like a pretty simple jobs to put them in and they look fairly cool and all for $36. Also have Aisin hubs coming from Jason (Toyota parts Dude) and a hi-lift jack too. My gf's gonna kill me if she finds out, as we are in the process of buying a house. But a guys gotta have his hobbies, eh!

People in Ireland just touch wood? Man that sounds bad! We knock on wood here.

Just giving you a hard time! Let us know how the install goes, I am interested in the same indiglo gauges.

I actually bought the same guages from the same guy about 2 months ago. Just barely installed them though. They're easy to install and don't look too bad either. The installationg probably took all of an hour.
Good luck I think you'll be satisfied.

The only problem I ran into was I took all of the green rubbers off of the light bulbs and then put them back as is. Kind of looks cheesy so when I find some neon bulb paint I'll fix that.

Highly recommend finding the bulb paint before installing the guages or you'll have to go back in like me.

Why did you take the green rubber covers off? Can you leave the bulbs out altogether? Would that be better?

Well you do and you don't. You do remove 2 of the lights. Specifically the ones that are used to light up your tach and speedometer. (Once you get back there you'll see that they're the larger of the light bulbs.)
But do as I did and just pull all of the light bulbs and remove the green rubbers.

I wouldn't put the guages in again until I got the neon bulb paint though.

And a little technical hint to install them...feed the wires through the two holes that are now there. (From removing the tach and spedo lights.
And throw the instructions away that come with those guages. They look hand-written and won't do you any good. But it's a straight forward installation.

I bought those same exact gauges from that exact user only to have them NOT FIT my 2nd gen! The holes for the needle hubs are too small.

That jerkoff msispeed wont return emails about it either. Buy elsewhere... DO NOT do business with him.

Ive already paid him. Could you not have just modified them like Ukmyers did. Or was the difference mor substantial?
Thanks 4runner i may do that but your write up is very comprehensive. Lots of pics also. Thank your friend. We love pics here!

short of getting a custom hammer punch made and repunching the center on them, I dont see how...

I hate it when crap like that happens cuz I do like the product, but when the seller is an ass.... I make it a mission to let the world know...

Sorry to hear about those. I hop mine are OK, cause its a bit harder to complain when you're 9000 miles away!

If the holes are too small, can't you use a unibit to enlarge them. Forgive me if this is ridiculous, I've never seen the indiglo's in the flesh.

hope it didn't cost that much. Sorry to hear about it. That's why I'm always afraid to buy stuff on ebay.

BumpinYota, what year is your 4runner? Mine went in without any problems.
And sorry to hear about your experience with msispeed (?). It's always amazing that they'll respond to you before you buy their product. But after you buy, they seem to have dropped off the face of the earth. It's amazing!

My yota is a '90, the first year of the 2nd gen, with the sr5 package w/tachometer.

What is a unibit and how can it be used?

Thanks,
Steve
