I'm Taco'd!

Been wanting a 'work' truck for a while now...my Runner is used for our touch -up/detail biz when we visit dealerships daily. Just so happened we are at the Toyota lot today, looking at cars to work on, and we spot a '99 Taco TRD PreRunner...in Horizon Blue, just like my Runner. Had a fugly pipe rack bolted to the bed rails, and a few dings. 2.7 auto and SR5 package with the nice rims. Took it for a test drive and really pleased how well the Bilstein shocks felt..been wanting to Bill the Runner 4ever. Had a 12k sticker, the manager gave us a sweet deal, so we took it home. Pulled the rack off and will spend the weekend detailing and touching up the truck. Gonna get a flat SnugTop lid so I can keep all my paints and tools locked up. Kinda kool to have matching trucks...I'll try hard to keep this one unmolested ...hehe

Thanks. Yup, almost like having twins...or at least brothers. I'll get some pics AFTER I clean it up...belonged to a retired carpenter who did'nt spend much time cleaning it...a world of difference from my '99 with 130k and almost spotless...it has small noisy tires with a lot of meat left, guess I'll have to wear those out before I can get matching 31's...
The Runner will be in the garage and covered after I give it a good detailing. It will be our Sunday driver after 5 years of non stop driving and too many miles piled on. She deserves some R&R...I have plans to stitch up a very custom leather interior for the Runner as soon as I figure out how to pay for my SnugTop lid...damn, those things are pricey! I'll get tint for the 2 side windows, a Wink mirror, maybe clear corners and turn sigs and bust my butt to make 2 truck payments and insurance...
Lee, those are 'covers' I got from Japan along with my tail trim and Surf emblems. I had to buy '01 mirrors so I could use them...kinda wish I did'nt sell my old '99 mirrors to another Taco guy years ago...I could have put 'em on my Taco...the Taco mirrors are real small.
