Exclamation i'm a girl too. . .

now that i have your attention just wanted to say i did the dumbest thing ever tonight, i stopped by a friends house on the way to see matrix i had my extra keys in the console right, i leave the other keys in the ignition i get out close the door and than realize F@#$ i just locked my G.D. keys in my truck!! i coulda called toyota but my wallet was also locked in my truck. moral of the story is that if you want to jimmy the lock on a 98 tacoma instead of pulling up with the slim jim push down just to the right of the lock.

sorry it took us (there were 4 of us) 45 minutes to outsmart toyota!!! now i am glad i got a toy it is hard to break into lol

sorry had to share

that's odd, do you have power doors?

my car wont allow me to lock the doors by manually pushing them down or by the electric button when the door is opened and key is in ignition to ON. it just unlocks them instantly

Yeah some vehicles u have to push down with the slim jim instead of hooking and pulling up, just a matter of pushing and pulling around until u see the lock moving. I know 88' Jeep Commanches had the push down design as well.

I have one of those device locks that you loop around a door knob and it has a combination that allows you to lock stuff inside. You know spare keys and such?

I have one of these on my truck with a spare key. It's nice to have that insurance.

Trust me it isn't that hard to open a door. It may take a bit the first time.... but a professional wouldn't have a hard time. I've opened doors in under 20 seconds with just a hanger.

I saw a great one the other day when I was in town for lunch.

This guy locked his keys in the car and couldn't get in. Next thing I saw was one of the construction guys who were parked next to them unscrew the guys antenna and bent the tip with a Leatherman. Click unlocked

total time 30 seconds including unscrewing the antenna and bending it, then fixing it and puttin it back on

I had a stupid relapse quite a few years ago. I was 15. My 'new' 94 4x4 Toyoa pickup w/ 3" lift and 33's... I was pimping with a badass system. So I am at the mall, showing off.

I jump out to show my buddies how loud it is with the doors closed. So I shut the doors, and take the remote and crank up the volume...

Yeah, so the doors are locked, engine running and system turned ALL THE WAY Up. It took over 2 hours for AAA to show up and unlock the doors. Worst part was that I couldnt turn the volume down (battery in remote died!) and I had to sit there while the truck went "boom boom boom" and everyone watched.

By the time AAA showed up I was almost out of gas. About 1/8 of a mile from the gas station she finally died...

Moral of the story..... When you are 15, you are stupid.

I have a 95 and with the engine running, if I try to lock the doors when one is open, it'll unlock all of them automatically. Didn't the 94 do that?

I'm sure it did before Circuit City installed the Viper Alarm.
