I'm finally part of the club! Here's my introduction and progress thread...

Geez, clean 4Runner's are hard to find! After selling my '97 BMW 540i 6-speed and searching for 4 months, I finally brought one home last night. It's a 2000 Limited with 128,xxx and service records for the major services (60k/90k/120k). I was able to get it for $9500, which I think is a pretty good deal. I'm so happy I was able to score one with the e-locker!

The front bumper is in total disarray, littered with rock chips and dents. No matter, it's getting replaced very soon! The rear bumper is also messed up from where the previous owner slid back into a rock or tree stump. Luckily there's no damage to the actual body. Anyone have a silver rear bumper? There's a dent in the back lift that looks like it was hit with a baseball, and a 'push out' crease in the driver door, where I imagine the person who installed the speakers messed up. The leather is worn on the bolsters, so I'll need to condition that, and a couple pieces of in the cargo area are cracked/damaged. Other than those imperfections, it's in great condition.

Stay tuned to this thread for my updates as I complete them. I have a very clear goal of what I want this rig to do, and I think some of you might enjoy watching the transformation. Here are some pics of how it sits now.

Cheers!
Joey

Needs a little cosmetic work but other than that, a well mechanically maintained vehicle is key. Good luck! Keep up with the pics! I need to do that too. I think I want some more limited trim now that I look at yours...

I removed the stock soccer-mom running boards today. Looks 100% better in my opinion!

Thanks man. I'm not worried about the price at all. I shopped for months and feel I know the NW market well. I really love the look of the hood scoop but I wanted leather, digital climate control, and full-time AWD. I figure if I really want the hood scoop, I can buy a sport hood.

Welcome to the forum but i have to say $9500 is very steep (at least around here) for a 2000 with damage to both front and rear bumpers, plus the flares, door etc. Someone didn't know how to drive. I hope they knew how to keep the oil changed.

TMV comes out to aorund 6500.00

nice score and welcome to the club

Irbis Off Road has my old silver bumper from a 99SR5 not sure of fitment to you. Personally I would not waste money on a flimsy factory bumper and go ahead and splurge now on an ARB or TJM bumper replacement.

The NW market is pretty steep.

When I was looking last spring, I found one similar to yours.

1999 limited with 98,000, perfect condition except for a dent on the roof from a ski binding, cracked leather on drivers seat, and a broken fog light. I could only get the guy down to $13,800.

I ended up getting a perfect toyota certified 2002 SR5 with 41,000 for $19,900. Talk about expensive.

Hmm maybe I should go to the NW to sell my '98 Limited 4X4 with 75K miles. Bet I could get a pretty penny for it there.
