Illuminated Cup Holders

Well, I finally got around to putting some accessory lighting in the cup holders so I can find where to put the water bottle at night.

www.hooliganbiketech.net/sportrunner

You can click the Illuminated Cup Holder link on the left menu if you wanna see the details.

love the "BORG" water lol

just read your "how to" link... very well thought out, simple and easy to follow... I love it...
think you can submit that one for our wiki? I predict it will be a very popular mod.

Thanks guys. They're actually not distracting at all. You can barely see them out of the corner of your eye while driving. The key is to use low power LEDs in the 6 - 20 mcd range. None of those super bright deals (1000+ mcd).

I submitted articles in the past and they were rejected for improper format. I don't really have the cycles to re-write it. You can link to it if you like though.

Looks awesome, here's some pics of another 4Runner that did the same mod, they put LED's in the door handles too.

My pleasure. This mod is CHEAP if you already have the tools. $15 for parts give or take.

Haha, thanks man. I'm anal AS HELL, so things that take most people 15 minutes take me 2 hours. It's a blessing and a curse.

I just picked up the stuff to do this mod, hopefully I 'll find the time later this evening to do it. I decided to go with blue LED's since my head unit has a blue display. Thanks for the great write-up!

Very nicely done. I will have to say that I now have some more "bling" projects for later. REally like the LED cupholder illumination mod. Will definitely add this to my to do list. You are absolutely right about the "black hole" the cupholders live in. Looking to do blue lighting in my runner so I may go with blue in my install.

Fo_SheeZy, can you send me the link for the door LED mod? I think this is a gr8 idea. I can see lots of lighting potential here. My soldering gun is getting itchy!

So Speedy, have you noted any change in your gas milage since the Supercharger install? Would like to do this mod but like you said, $$ is what is holding me back on this. It would be a real kick in the pants to have one.

another reason why i wish i had the cupholders, good job speedy. i'm thinking this would be a good mod to do in a few areas, in the cubby hole below the radio and in the center console. i would eventually like to do the doors as well but i have to figure out if it's going to be the runner i have or if i actually am getting another one
