Question Ignition Switch, How do ya remove it?

Well, I looked at it and came up with nothing. Seems to be bolted to the steering column with bolts that have no heads on them. Anyone got any Ideas? I'm trying to pull this part offa my 2wd parts truck for someone but can't seem to figure it out, I haven't looked at the chitty haynes manual because I can't find mine, not to mention it probably wouldn't give that much insight into it anyway. If anyone can come up with anything lemme know the less dangerous way, seems this truck wants to make me shed blood everytime I do something to it. I got one heck of a cut on my thumb from the door handles.

hey, this might help you out. i had to take one off of a honda civic and hopfully its the same for your car. you need to take a small hack saw or a dremel tool and cut silts into the bolt. then use a screw driver to slowly back them out, you can also try to use a screwdriver and a hammer and try to loosen it up that way by hitting the side of the bolt. the bolts aren't in there too tight. it take a bit of time because you are working in a tight space, just be patient!

after you take them out i recommend that you cut deeper slits into the bolt so it will be easier to put back on!

good luck!

Yeah, I was thinking that but didn't want to whip out the dremel. If it comes down to that I will though.

Man, for reference only guys this is gotta be one of the most simple things to do on a toyota pickup. All ya need is a phillips screwdriver, a paperclip and the key. All you got to do is put the key in the ignition, turn it to ACC. Then there is a button below the lock, put the paperclip in and pull the key, it will come right out, took me all of 30 seconds.

Your steering maybe locked. Try turning the wheel when you turn the key.

The key feels like it would move the switch , but the steering lock feels like it is bound. I've tryed turning it from side to side nicely and forcefully, it wont let the key turn. I'm ready to try and break the steering lock ,any suggestions ?
