Question Ignition Cylinder removal?

I just went and hauled back my eBay 4Runner on Friday. I didn't worry about it not having keys, because I figured I could just swap out the cylinders from my truck. I know you can pull the ignition cylinder by turning the key to the 'ACC' position while pushing a rod in from the bottom. How can I get it out without a key? I called a locksmith, and they want $85 to come and make me a key. Seems a waste when I already have the parts!

I've got a very sticky ignition lock cylinder. I've tried using WD-40 and graphite spray on it and it's still difficult to turn the key to start the truck. I've been thinking about removing the lock cylinder and looking at it's inerds.

Has anyone removed the ignition lock cylinder or replaced it? I can't seem to find anything on this repair in my FSM.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When I had to take mine out, I just used a small drill bit and drilled out the little pin that retains the cylinder into the column... quick and painless. Just be careful not to wallow out the hole in the column which is very soft metal or else your ignition will have a very sloppy feel.
