Teddy,

What kind of driving do you anticipate doing? Hauling something on a regular basis? Do you have a large family? etc?

I'd go for the 4runner.
The streets here are narrow enough without those oversized gas guzzelers (Exploditions) crowding their entire lane.
Plus, I like to be able to squeeze through tight spots when necessary.
Just the other day I was able to slide by a moving truck double parked on a side road. The full size chebby following me had to fold in his mirrors to make it.
Just my thoughts,
Todd

I think you're gonna get a 100% vote for 4runner from everyone. Although the sequoia is a good suv, i think it's only get a vote for those who want to drive em to the local grocery store! hehe

4Runner! The Sequoia is so big, unless you have a big family or need lots of room. It depends on your needs. Toyotas version of the Suburban is the Sequoia, I think, only nicer.

4runner! the new one is unique still not many people have them the sequoia everyone and there mother has here. unless you need the room the 4runner is my choise especially since i bought one. Plus the limited sequioa is alot of cash. A base sequioia is the same price as a loaded 4runner. Chris

I agree with what everybody else said, if I had a big family I'd go for the sequoia, but other than that, 4RUNNER!!

But I don't really like the 4th gens, i'd go for a 3rd gen

Not to be lame, but I'd take the Sequoia. I like trucks with LOTS of room. I'm over 6' tall, and I dig the legroom. Plus, the new 4Runner isn't really my cup of tea.

I've owned both, and it comes down to how much space vs. how much sport you want in your truck. Sequoia, though pick of the full-size litter, doesn't match 'Runner in any performance category (V-8's) and IMHO is packaged with a less desirable running gear in the 4X4 models.

Sequoia interior materials, including the leather, seem a half-step down from the 'Runner when comparing Limited models. And a console mounted and gated shift lever can actually be used compared to the lazy Sequoia set-and-forget column shifter. It's relatively loud in the Sequoia cabin. That big resonant box amps everything behind you and bounces it back.

'Runner has the electro-hydraulic brake system vs. the "old-fashioned" vacuum system on Sequoia. Big difference in braking power. The pedal stays firm even down steep hills, and would even if the engine quit. System is shared with Land Cruiser.

I'll give the nod to Sequoia for high speed stability. It isn't moved by crosswinds much. My 'Runner, maybe due to the suspension setup, is overly sensitive to crosswinds unless the tires are pumped way up.

Resale was great on Sequoia. A furniture store owner bought it and placed it into service as a moving truck that day. Big, alright.

Long story short...buy the 'Runner. It's another generation ahead of Sequoia in almost every way.

4Runner

I think the Sequoia is an Expedition in disguise, but you can't go wrong with any Toyota.

I dont see how either one is a bad choice. I am a 4runner guy but I do like the Sequoias for their size. If you had said 3rd gen vs. sequoia it would be hands down a 4runner. The runner has the best lines in the biz.
