Ideas for a Clock?
Well I found the one drawback to installing my new stereo in my Xterra, it took away my clock :pat: My new reciever has a clock on it, but it's not on all the time.
So now I'm trying to figure out a solution to that problem. I'm looking for something that's backlight, and doesn't take up too much space, and preferably something that is simple to install I was thinking about trying to retrofit one of the stock dash mounted clocks like the 2nd Gen (And 3rd Gen I think) 4Runners have, but the problem would be where to mount it, and then how to wire it
Anyone have any ideas? Otherwise I'm going to have to resort to the method I used when I had my Jeep (I took the straps off of an old watch, attached some Velcro to the back, and to the dash, and Bam! I had an on dash clock )

What kind of stereo is it. On alot of them you can set the clock to be on all the time. Check your stereo owners manual. That should hopefully solve your dilema.

My stereo does have a clock on it, it's just that it takes up most of the display on the stereo, and when it's on I can't see the track name/number or any of that. And I always have to hit the display button to get the clock to show up everytime I switch CDs or turn on the truck. I've gotten so used to having a clock always visible with my trucks
I'm sure if I don't figure something out that I'll just learn to live with it

I used to just strap the watch around one of the spokes of the steering wheel. I haven't seen what the steering wheel looks like on an exterra but it could work.

I feel naked without my watch but lots of people dont like wearing them. Heres another idea. You can get watches for your keychain. Ive seen some nice ones that just go on the key ring. You might be able to utilize something like that hanging off the mirror, off key chain, off the dash somewhere. And they are inexpensive. And alalog which is nice.

E-Bay Camry Clock No dimensions are listed but I bet its about 1 x 3 inches.
Wiring would be pretty easy. There are 3 wires, One always hot, one switched with key for display and one ground.
