heres the deal im running a full ome set up with 883 up front and 891 in the rear with nitrocharger shocks and struts and daystar 1.5" rear spacers and im running 265 70 r16 tires. but seeing other 3rd gen rigs around they seem to be quite a bit taller and im looking for more clearance so body lifts are out of the question i just want to run 285 without them looking stuffed any options besides bracket lifts that i can do that wont destroy my CV's?

well i mean are their any other suspension options i can look at? im not a huge fan of body lifts...

There is not really any other suspension options out there for more than 3" of lift. Unless like you said a bracket lift, in wich case you would have to refit from a tacoma anyways since they don't make one for a 4runner.

Fiberglass fenders are out there....

Not trying to sound rude or anything, but try google. 4wheel parts has some good stuff, you can also look at Old Man Emu if you want to go a lil more expensive. There are TONS of ways to lift your truck, all you have to do is look. Also, there is a thread on here that may help you a lot: go to the search function and type in "Newbie Modification Information", it will tell you all you need to know about lifts, height, center of gravity, etc, and you might just change your mind on how much lift you actually want. When I first started, I wanted like 6" of lift, but now I've pretty much decided that 4" is best, for several reasons. Have fun!!

I guessing that you are seeing a bunch of our 3rd gens in your area. There are quite a few that are running... 285s with 3" lifts and no BL and have some rubbing, 285s with a 3" lift and BL (1", 1.5" 2") and have very little rubbing, 285s with 3 1/2"+ and BL and have a little rubbing, 305 with ~4" w/ some trimming and a little rubbing. There are a few that are running ToyTec COs cranked up and OME 851 rear coils (~5"+ in back).

I'm running 265/75-16 with ~3 1/2 in front and 4" in back and no BL. I rub on full tuck. I'm using ToyTec Coilovers in front and LC 9.25 wraps in back. I need a stronger rear coil and am debating between the OME 861 and 851.

The moral of this story. 285s will rub if you only do a suspension lift and the coils are soft enough to compress to the bumpstops.
