tires are same size as before 265/70/16. I plan on purchasing new tires, cant decide between bfg AT or MT. What is the biggest size tire i can fit on stock suspension? THe wife likes the running boards but i think i may remove them in place of some sliders. I doubt i will wheel this vehicle much , i plan on purchasing a 22re 4x4 truck for hauling stuff and a trail truck. This 4runner is just to nice for me to tear up!

so no rubbing at all with the 265/75/16's? i dont want to kill my MPG. I was getting 17.5 mpg with my tacoma then i added 31x10.5x15 goodyear MTRs and was only getting 14 mpg.

It shouldn't be that bad but I do understand what you say about decreasing gas mileage w/ bigger tires. Sometimes I just don't believe people on this board when they claim greater than 17 mpg w/ 265's or bigger. Either that or my runner is a piece of @#$@$#...

According to what you said (daily, street truck mostly wanting good mpg) you should just buy some Michelin LTX M/S in stock size 265/70/16 and call it a day.

Why buy BFG A/T or M/T if they will ever be put to use?

You must have had 3.58's plus some other issue then. I was getting 22-24 mpg with 225's and only dropped a couple MPG when I went to 31's.

they would get used, for when i take the family fishing or camping, or when i go hunting, and im sure i wont be able to avoid hitting the trails occasionally in it.

So far the 4runner is getting 15 mpg.
