According to what you said (daily, street truck mostly wanting good mpg) you should just buy some Michelin LTX M/S in stock size 265/70/16 and call it a day.
Why buy BFG A/T or M/T if they will ever be put to use?

You must have had 3.58's plus some other issue then. I was getting 22-24 mpg with 225's and only dropped a couple MPG when I went to 31's.

So far the 4runner is getting 15 mpg.
