That should read I need some help taking off my OME. Anyway, since I'm going back to almost stock I need to take my OME off and put the stock stuff on. I have everything I need, I think, exect the tools to do it. My factory jack is broken, and I have basic tools but nothing else. Anybody up for some beer for effort?

If not, any suggestions on a cheap way to get it off?

If a shock has two flat parts, that look like a channel-lock has been on it, would it still work?

Methinks you'll need a lot more than channel locks to get your shocks off, but I'm not certain what all the parts are. Are you taking off just the shocks? Do you have springs too? More importantly, why are you going back to stock!?

The channel-lock marks are on the stock shocks. I need to get the OME off without those marks though.

I'm taking off the front coil-overs, the rear coils, and rear shocks. I would take the panhard drop off, but a) it's welded, and b) I might be going back up in a few years.

I'm going back to stock b/c new MTs are ~$500 (I paid $800 last time), and I'm driving on average 30k miles a year. I bought a set of Sequoia/Tundra rims/tires off eBay for relatively cheap, and after I sell the OME etc., I might get by with new tires for about half the cost of new MTs.

You should be able to get the OME rear shocks off without using a channel lock.

For some reason the stock toyota shocks were put on with a really tight nut or something, and it's easiest to use channel locks to twist it off.

I'm not sure if re-installing the shock with bent casing will affect the suspension tho...

Anybody have suggestions on how to remove the front setup without a bottle jack?

Also, I drive to Birmingham pretty much every weekend, so if anybody in that area can help me out, I'm sure I have some parts that you might like. My other gifts are cash and beer. Any takers?

Why don't you leave the OME shocks on and just put the stock coils back in.

That would be a nice stock ride.

Agreed. I just rode in a friends 4Runner that has the stock coils with OME shocks (not sure which model) and I was pretty impressed with the ride. Kind of surprising actually.

The ride difference is amazing. I really can't wait to try them out on the trail to see how flexy they are.
