I need new tires and I have 4 choices .

A buddy of mine can get me a good deal on the following tires .

Bridgestone ALENZA 265/70R16
General GRAB AW P265/70R16
Pirrelli SC ATR P265/70R16
TOYO OCAT P265/70R16

I can get a good deal on these models .They are all within $20 per tire .I do mostly commuting with very little secondary road use .I now have the Toyos and i`m fairly happy with them. The only problem I have with them is that their snow performance is terrible.

What are your thoughts on these tires .

AND if you think it warrants the BFG Mud being important enough tyo override his reasons for only picking from these 4 tires, you should try and explain the merits of this tire. Seeing as he said he drives mostly on road, and rarely offroad, i think the BFG Mud would actually be a horrible idea, its loud, doesnt have the manners of a street tire, and is more exspensive than the tires he is looking at....Did you ever READ his post?

PFBMGD -

Tires really come down to opinion and personal importance.

Decide whats important to you, i.e. -

Traction
Tread Life
Ease of Balancing
Road noise
Puncture resistance
etc.

Do some research on tires.com and look around and read some reviews of each tire and see what fits best with what you are looking for...

Good luck!

Oh, go easy Rocko Taco.....judging by yotasavg's sig I'd say he was just telling us what he'd go with in the future.

And Chris is right, research is your best bet. For example, personally I couldn't stand the General Grabbers on a Bronco II and took them off way before they were out of tread. Bet you could find others who couldn't live without them. That's the cool thing about reviews, if you can find a bunch of them on each tire you'll get a better idea as to what's what. Tirerack.com has been useful in my own research.

search and compare them on tirerack.com. They give the performance ratings of each tire in different catagories. snow, wet traction, ect. See which one comes out better and get that one

Go with the bridgestones. I have a set of take-offs from a 07 FJ on my taco and have been very happy with them so far.

This year I learned something new. This year I learned that you can't grow hobos like potatoes.
