I just had my starter replaced
I took advantage of my AAA membership to see if they could break it down to the right part. It was the starter. I asked would it be the contact? He says if it was, he wouldn't be getting any clicking when I turn the key. Sure enough, this morning the starter was replaced, and it only cost me: $168(part)+$76(labor)+$13(tax)=$257. Sweet stuff. Anyways, thanks for the help earlier last week.
Have a nice weekend.

mine went out a couple years ago, looked on yotatech and found the info about the starter contacts and decided to go that route. it was about 15 degrees in my garage with no heater and after a couple hours, 30 minute break, couple hours, 30 minute break, &%)#$(@)#(%%&&@#@!!! checking on web and in my worthless Chilton manual i could not figure out how to get the thing out! it was all dark except for the two long bolts that hold the thing together and that's what i was trying to remove to get the thing out, ah what a dumb-you-know-what! well, i just had the dealership i worked at put one on for $265 even though i KNOW it was only the contacts. i asked if they would just get the thing out for me and i'd replace the contacts and they could put it back in; eh, no go there buddy! after it was all done i checked it out to see if they actually put a new one on, and then i noticed the bolts right there in front of me! man, i was kicking myself for... well, i guess i still am. now i've got some generic starter in there, works but i'm leary about the day it decides to give out. i hope you got a new OEM starter. but it sounds like your contacts were not the problem, glad you are back on the road again!
